About Us

Welcome to Spicy Sweaters!

I’m thrilled to share our story with you. My name is Katja Bostock, and I’m a 51-year-old mother, wife, and advocate for the neurodivergent community. Our mission at Spicy Sweaters is to break down the stigma surrounding autism by selling apparel that speaks directly to the experiences of women on the autism spectrum.

Our journey began a few years ago when a life coach told me I had Aspergers. This unexpected revelation came after years of being treated for depression and anxiety without much success. Finally, I understood why the medication didn’t work.

My entire family is on the autism spectrum, and we’re all self-diagnosed. We’ve found that understanding our neurodivergence has brought us closer together. Our household is lively, loving, and often chaotic, but it’s filled with understanding and acceptance.

Our loyal dog, Rosie, is my constant companion and emotional support animal. She follows me around all day, providing the comfort and stability that I need to navigate daily challenges.

Spicy Sweaters was born out of a desire to create a movement that normalizes the autistic experience. Our apparel features relatable messages that resonate with neurodivergent women, fostering a sense of community and empowerment. By wearing our designs, we hope to make these messages a part of our everyday lives, encouraging acceptance and understanding from everyone we meet.

We believe in the power of clothing to start conversations, change perceptions, and inspire action. Each piece we create is a step towards a more inclusive world where neurodiversity is celebrated. We invite you to join us in this movement—together, we can break down barriers and build a brighter, more accepting future.

Thank you for supporting Spicy Sweaters. Your purchase not only helps raise awareness but also contributes to a community where every individual is valued for their unique perspective.

With warmth and gratitude,

Katja
